I’m not sure if this is interesting to anyone else, but Wikipedia (the open-source encyclopedia) has a shocking number of entries that relate to local radio. One should expect entries for Prairie Home Companion and The Current, but nearly every station gets mentioned too. Here are some of them: Radio K, KFAI, 93X, Jazz 88, KFAN, KQRS, KTIS, KSTP, KSJN, WLOL, KS95, Kool 108, WLTE Lite FM, K102, MPR, Smooth Jazz 100.3, WCCO, Cities 97, Drive 105, and even the KMSP Tower. Several personalities — including Mary Lucia, Mark Wheat, Bill Kling, and Tom Barnard — also get bio pages.

Speaking of 89.3–as great as the music is, does anything else out there think that Mary and Mark are THE MOST BORING radio disc jockey’s ever heard? Mark claims “John Peel” as an influence – in what capacity, I can’t fathom; John Peel was one of the greatest DJ’s of our time.
