Al Franken Is a Big Fat Hippie

“I’m not a hip-hop fan.” Ba-bye, Franken — you just lost and you hadn’t even announced you were running yet. And two Grateful Dead songs? Oh boy.

Hey, at least there’s no Strokes on his list.

“Forever Young” has reminded me of Paul Wellstone ever since Garrison Keillor and company sang it on the show the day after the plane crash. I still cry.

I’ve added the “Al trifecta” of iTunes celebrity playlists (Al Franken, Al Green, and Weird Al Yankovic) to Mixmatcher… feel free to suggest new songs to their playlists.

Nicole Kidman’s playlist over at Mixmatcher is a bit surprising, with some definite high points. Al should ask her to help him out with some new music.

I hope to see the Coleman attack ad airing in the suburbs: “Can we trust a comedian with our national security? Who is this New York hippie anyway? And he doesn’t even like hip-hop music.”

If you’ve seen Battleground Minnesota, you know Norm can definitely bling with the boys.

i wonder … in what (sexually-frustrated)vein does “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” remind Al of his youth?
