Just
returned from opening day at the fair. Schumacher’s is now a Bake Shoppe…. I am horrified… no more wonderful Czech food… John have been at the fair since forever….. Sadness fills my soul and my stomach screams for those wonderful dumplings and kraut! I read that John has reworked the New Prague Hotel resturant and it is open once again…so now it is on to New Prague for his wonderful gastric delights.

@Debra – West Indies Soul Food moved to the International Bazaar last year, so you’ll have to go a bit further for that lemonade.

Since no more Schumachers, try the corned beef and cabbage at O’Gara’s. Steaming hot, with carrots and potatoes. Goes great with the unique lemonade from
West Indies Soul Food right across the aisle in the Food Court. Just Minnesota-nicely shove your way through!

Roasted corn, French fries, cheese curds, 1919 root beer, cider freezies, lemonade, mini donuts, mocha on a stick, corn fritters, cinni minis, tater tots on a stick, pork chop on a stick… have I forgotten any of the greatest hits?

I find it’s better to snack one item at a time rather than eating a full meal. Also, I always get the small size and share with a group. That allows for maximal sampling.

And I”m going to MN Cooks day. Can’t wait!

I usually coincide my one Fair visit each year with the llamas. I llove llamas.
