In college I used to conduct political surveys (non-partisan ones funded by the university, but still I know I’m evil and that I interrupted your dinner), and yes, you are definitely required to tell them who the poll is being conducted for, how it’s being used, and all sorts of other information if they ask.

Besides, if I have learned anything recently, it’s that I can say anything I want, on any topic, and STILL get elected to the United States Senate.
