Promoting state pride; A How To

While I have little love for “reality” television, this was a low blow. Ms. Yamaguchi has come to the Twin Cities twice to help our influenza awareness campaign, she is a very down-to-earth person who has some close ties to Miinnesota.

Their first problem: dining at the Roseville Outback Steakhouse.

There are no rules at Outback. This was bound to happen.

It’s really sad that Yamaguchi is identified primarily as a reality show star. Anyone remember when she used to be known as something of an athlete?

Note to CJ: Local newsie mocks Roseville cancer chaity theft.

Weeks later, rocked by waves of letters, emails and calls from angry Yamaguchi fans, CBS learns it has lost its bid for the broadcast rights to the next Winter Games. Its stock drops 25 points on the news.

Early 2009, newly appointed CBS president Ben Tracy announces sale of WCCO-TV to Fox.

Actually, Jason, that was pretty funny. And yes, miller, it is sad that anyone is identified primarily as a reality show star.

Yeah, miller, I definitely remember her as a figure skater. In fact, I didn’t even know she was doing Dancing with the Stars. It was just the simplest way of describing it.

So, can we start referring to Michael Phelps as a future reality TV Star? Apparently, Americans have a very short memory…

Interesting that so few remember Mark Spitz’s career as a real estate investor, celebrity spokesperson or actor.

Well, maybe not that last one.

Her appearance at the cancer benefit was as a part of Dancing with the Stars, which is probably why the article doesn’t mention her career as a figure skater.

I always think of Kristi Yamaguchi as a skater first, then as the wife of Bret Hedican. Don’t they live in MN at least part-time?

I think of Kristi Yamaguchi as an easy mark.

Yes, spells, they have a lake home near Brainerd.

I’m sure you’re all wondering how they decorated the place. Mpls/StPaul Mag does not let you down.

so. . . do we need a dancing derusha?

I think this reflects more on Roseville than MN as a whole.

Why’s that? We don’t know who took the equipment or where they lived.

I suspect Tonya Harding did it.

I suspect the gang bangers in downtown Minneapolis did it.

Tonya Harding in one of Fox TV’s more sterling moments.

Poor technique on both sides.

I suspect the gang bangers in downtown Minneapolis did it.

You’re just begging Berfus to jump in, aren’t you, spaceman?

If Berfus jumps in, it will probably sound like this:

“One time my friends tried to steal Brian Boitano’s wool vest, and then we got jumped, until I pulled an uzi and then we got chased by Tara Palinski…”

That would have been a good Berfus imitation, nateek, except your spelling, grammar and logic are all correct.

Then again, it could be the smoking ban.

Well, I don’t know of many people who willingly go to Roseville that don’t already live there. But anecdotal evidence, etc.

Mrs. Lungs worked in Roseville for many years. It has a couple of nice Dunn Bros. coffee shops (one in the library!), a decent shopping mall. a Minnesota Twins shop (!) and a good camera store (MN Camera Exchange).

Yeah, I just wanted to get in a preemptive strike. And then somehow I posted twice. Came off much more witty the second time, imo.

Berfus no take kindly to imitators. Berfus one of kind. ONE!

“One time my friends tried to steal Brian Boitano’s wool vest, and then we got jumped, until I pulled an uzi and then we got chased by Tara Palinski…”

Also, a gang of black people were chasing him.

kwatt is the King of Hulk Berfus comments.

Bix, I’m going to form a band called The Scary Urban Negros in your honor. They will all be white dudes from Roseville.

A gang of black figure skaters were chasing him!

If one of them was the amazing French skater Surya Bonaly, he ought slow down.

Love that back flip, Surya!

nice photoshopping miller…
