I’m starting to think what cities need is a general alternative vehicles lane: bikes, Segways, slow scooters and those little electric vehicles, Pedal Pubs, etc. There’s going to be an explosion of them, or at least there should be. The lanes would have to be a little wider than bike lanes, and more consistent – no random starting and stopping. The only difficult part is the high variability in alternative modes of transportation – different speeds, sizes, etc.

I got to MinnPost multiple times a day. I go to City Pages once or twice a week, usually to read the restaurant review and see the calendar.

Dyani That was refreshing to read. Now I don’t see him as a mega-douche, he’s now a mini-mega douche.

Well done “Dyani”.

Pawlenty is a nice enough fellow. He just happens to be a bad governor.

I think state rep Pat Garofalo is the same way. He’s a really nice guy, and one can get on famously with him, as long as you keep politics and religion out of it.

It reminds me of a good chunk of my family, actually.

You know Pat?

I used to be a reporter and would talk to him for background and interview him officially for stories. We haven’t hung out and had beers or anything, but I always thought he was a really cool guy.

He is.

I don’t know that a general alt vehicle lane would work terribly well. The variable speeds are a huge issue, and a wider lane like you’re saying would all too often be used as a bonus lane by idiots in cars.

Also, I would just like to reiterate here that Pizza Luce sucks and it baffles me that people line up for sauce that tastes of burnt garlic and plasticine cheese.

A comedian eh? Wasn’t sure if I should read the comment as humor or jejune; like T-Paw the Mega-Douche wakes up every morning wondering how he can ruin our lives, thus warranting the moniker. He has to be one of the more RINO-ish politicians out there. I digress.

I’ll admit to treating the bike lanes around the Capitol as regular driving lanes. They’re dumb.

They should legalize atv’s in the cities.
