Where in the Twin Cities (outside of your abode) do you go to get stuff done (writing or reading, for example)? Are there any public, semi-public places that are open 24 hours? I know the Loft has writing rooms that are available for a fee if you become a member but I don’t know of anything else beyond that.

I’ve spent a few afternoons in that cheesecake place on Hennepin in Uptown.

The library?
I don’t really have to do “stuff” anymore. When I did, I was in grad school, so I could do it at the U. Or I can always stay late at work.
White Castle is 24/7. I knew a guy who would drop off his dad (who he lived with) there when he had parties. He would pick him up after everyone left.

If I need a nap, I pick out one of the nicer trees across the street in Powderhorn Park.

Bottineau Library is a beautiful space to relax and read, write or type. Last time I was stressfully and furiously pounding out resumes and cover letters, the chill atmosphere there helped keep my heart rate down.
24-hour, though? My gym (Snap NE) is 24-hour, and you could read away on the elliptical or bicycle machines easily enough. But what Minnesotan wouldn’t feel guilty being indoors on a treadmill or bike machine in August?

I think that Cheesecake place move to SLP Muddy Paws?
I prefer Dunn Brothers on Hennepin in Uptown.

Uh… Bunny’s house?

How about Conservative Cafe? Anyone go there? Kwatt?

The neighbor’s tool shed. They don’t much care for the mess I leave though.

Dunn Brothers

I used to go to Spyhouse a lot.

I rarely mix moral thoughts and caffeine – upsets my stomach so I won’t be heading to Conservative Cafe anytime soon.
But this statement: “A place where people of all ages could enjoy a mocha, latte or cappuccino specially prepared by well trained Baristas while watching Fox News on the big screen televisions”
is almost enough for a road trip. Keyword being: Almost.

I usually go to Nina’s to get stuff done. Definitely not open 24 hours.
If I had serious business to take care of, I’d probably go to the Central Libray (St. Paul). It’s quiet and soothing and has wi-fi. Their hours are worse than Nina’s, though.

It’s in Indiana, so no. All of 90 in Indiana smells. I don’t know why but it does. If it were in Illinois, I’d go.
Still, I’d like to mosey in and order a Liberal Latte only to be corrected that I wanted a Liberty Latte.
Or maybe I’d go with a Freedom Frap.
I don’t drink coffee, so it’s a moot point.

I like to time travel to 1991 and get DeRusha’s help. That jacket is open 24/7.

I hate you and your giant St. Paul yard, cool cat.

You’ll mow my lawn media man. You might want to let Alyssa dress you first.

The counter at Muddy Waters, which I miss terribly, and the firehouse Dunn Bros by the river.
