Found this in the Strib’s East Metro police blotter:
July 6: A police officer patrolling near Front Avenue and Rice Street about 3 a.m. came upon a woman who claimed that she’d been sexually assaulted at a nearby home. A witness, however, said that the woman, who allegedly was drunk, fabricated the tale, police spokesman Peter Panos said. The officer decided to drive the woman home, and as she sat in the backseat, she called 911, claiming that she was being held hostage by police. Panos said that the officer stopped and awaited the arrival of a sergeant and a Roseville police officer to verify there’d been no wrongdoing.
