What’s closed for the GOP convention?

It’s surprising how few places are going to be booked for private functions. After they chose St. Paul, a lot more places seemed to be saying that they were already dealing with groups to host private functions.

It’s also interesting seeing which places in Mpls were booked. An interesting mix…at least to me.

I’m just glad my regular spots (Dulono’s, a couple taquerias, Quangs, and the cafeteria at work) aren’t booked. I wouldn’t know what to do, other than go to the grocery store.

I’d be interested to see which businesses refuse to book events for the convention.

I certainly hope the transvestite streetwalkers aren’t closing up shop during the convention. There’s a lot of repressed conservatives who are going to be looking for a little bit of release.

if they refuse to book events for the convention, I’d hesitate to call them businesses.

Isn’t there a potential business opportunity to advertise “Hey, we’re still open to the locals?”

I’m sure some will. They’d have to be stupid not to.

I’m looking forward to the over-the-top security theatre.
