You’re right Max – the local improv scene has absolutely exploded over the past 5+ years, and we are home to some incredible, incredible talent.

It’s refreshing to read such a great review, especially since it seems that most of the local press ignores improv all-together. I think they go at it from a “what’s there to review? – you’re never going to see the same thing again!” viewpoint, whereas it requires a different kind of critique than standard scripted-theater. I’m not sure our local press has the time and/or interest to tackle that.

I used to write about improv with some frequency, but I was a student of improv. The scene had grown quite a lot since I was at City Pages.

I like Dominic, but our tastes are quite different.

Wonderful article. It really gives off a sense of the growing community.

The last time improv in the Twin Cities got any attention, it was Papatola calling it mostly “awful awful stuff” on MPR.
