What makes you think he made someone mad (I suppose he does, because of the stands he takes). Maybe they knew he was out of town and thought they could get their hands on some valuable items, and acted like, you know, thieves?

I think its kind of weird anyone would think of robbing a priest. Don’t they take an vow of poverty? Or only some of them?
