There are two smokestacks down there, is this the really big one or the other one?

The (formerly) big one, kevs, near the High Bridge.

After promoting “live coverage” of the implosion all morning, KSTP-TV MISSED THE BOOM an went to “Good Mornining America” instead. I can only imagine how upset on-site reporter Joanna Song & crew were when the studio staff didn’t cut back to them in time. No explaination was given.

It went down EXACTLY at 7:30 a.m., KMSP-TV just barely got on the air from comercial break in time.

The PIPress has the story some others missed — the “new” Xcel High Bridge Plant, scheduled to be dedicated later, is actually already running on cleaner-burning natural gas. No need for a huge smokestack, unlike the old coal-burning plant.

After watching the video, I have to say I thought viagra would prevent that. That is all.

Well, it’s going to be wierd to go to work Monday and not see this thing standing above the treeline. If I’d been thinking I’d have gone up to teh Capitol and taken pics as it fell, the view from there is great. Instead I was watching tennis.

Note to media: please stop calling it an implosion. Thank you.

You are the media. Stop talking to yourself. That’s a sign of crazy.

We all are the media, aren’t we.

Paranoia. The second sign of crazy.

Blowed up? Didn’t know that ‘blowed’ was a word…..

That Todd Pittman clip is a great moment of video zen.

Blowed up? Didn’t know that ‘blowed’ was a word…..

Teucer’s mom.

Blowed up? Didn’t know that ‘blowed’ was a word

Big Jim McBob and Billy Sol Hurok would beg to differ with you

I live in the neighborhood – on the West Side – and am still annoyed with myself for not getting down to this. But sleeping in on a Saturday just feels so good.
