Facebook: the teacher

It’s true. I have several colleagues on facebook, and many of us use Google Groups and blogs.

So, if I understand the Strib quote below, this study reveals that the educational value of the Facespace phenomenon can be broken down to this: Kids who use the internet really learn how to use the internet. Brilliant.

“Students are developing a positive attitude towards using technology systems, editing and customizing content and thinking about online design and layout. They’re also sharing creative original work like poetry and film and practicing safe and responsible use of information and technology.”

Uh… Have they seen the typical MySpace user’s “online design?”
