Don’t you hate it when you wake up in the middle of the night with one of those burning questions about our regional highway system? Thank goodness we live in a state with one of the best transportation libraries in the country. If you can wait until morning, you can talk to an information specialist brimming with arcane knowledge about roads, bridges, trains, and the regulations and budgets that hold this tangled web together.

The transportation building also hosts the largest eatery on the Capitol campus, as kevs can attest. I wouldn’t want to eat there every day, but it’s not too bad.
Let me be the first here to say it: Congrats, kg, on winning a championship ring after all the years here in Minnestoa. Stop in and see us sometime, big guy.

To paraphrase…”Those who do not know the history of transportation are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.”
Maybe if Carol M had spent more time in the Transportation Library and less time in the Cafe our roads wouldn’t be such shite.

Library is probably a slightly problematic term for this institution, since people outside the information industry have weird ideas about what a library is. This institution is more of a clearinghouse for transportation information. They won’t have MNDOT storytime. But I’ve used their resources for some projects and can attest to the skill of their professional library staff.
