Giddy Up! Soup Comes to the Skyway

hopefully he can get it up and running in time for the Summer soup season. huh?

That’s it.

NO SOUP FOR YOU!

hopefully the Soup Nazi marketing angle gives him traffic, otherwise, he’s just Edingtons sans salad and sandwiches.

If there is any banning to be done in this town, I’ll do it!

In any case, I luvesss a good soup, and I look forward to giving this new joint a try.

No way! Eddington’s is expensive and it kind of blows. This has got to be better stricktly by default. Besides, everyone in my office is excited and will be lined up outside on opening day.

I’ll have the tomato bisque!

Who eats soup in June?

This guy doesn’t know his market. By June, The Rat is souped out.

Oh man, me Rat. I eat soup year round.

too bad I’m no where near downtown though…

NO SOUP FOR JUNE!

Maybe the guy will throw in a gazpacho or cold cucumber soup. Maybe a Brunswick stew.

That’s good, but not worth a special trip or anything.

Rat doesn’t work downtown does he? Soup is a way of life for the worker bees.

The Rat works at home. That’s why he can post here on a Friday p.m. He’s unsupervised.

I’ll probably be @ the soup place once a week when the weather is bad. It will be the closest lunch place to me.

Good, I’m sick of Au Bon Pain soup.

And speaking of downtown lunchers. We should have the First Evar MNSpeak Lunch downtown at some point next week.

Max: “NO SOUP FOR JUNE!”

“No soup for Jews!” – Actual Soup Nazi.

Let’s go to Eddington’s for lunch!

Their rice krispie bars are good.

Then we can plan how we’re going to be firsts in line when the Soup Nazi opens!! And we have to tell each other the “secret word” and discuss the ordering process.

Order, put your money down, step to the left, collect change.

So all of you fancy folks in downtown Mpls think you are getting the
best place for soup?—-Well Melly Jacobs here has the best place in town
for soup but don’t do what I did which was to go up to the register
and ask if I could change out the daily soup and sandwich special
for 2 soups and no sandwich:)
Dufner’s Soup ‘R” Sandwiches in Plymouth has the best Hamburger Macaroni
Soup Ever and I will take the “what a high maintenance princess looks”–
from the staff and regulars any day.
God I could go for some right now! Dammit

who you callin’ fancy?

One more thing the only reason I can’t go to Eddington’s is because last
time I was there with my kids someone puked split pee soup up right
in the entry way during lunch and everyone stood around passing off
the clean up puke task and it stayed there for a good half hour.
Gotta draw the line on what I can look at while I am eating.
I am still traumatized when I see pee soup!

“pee soup”

Heh.

Does Eddington’s still have that all-you-can-eat soup deal? I used to love that.

All of you who pay 12 bucks an hour to park when I can go to my place
out here in the burbs and get soups for the whole office for the same price!
got ya:)

Oh man.

Melinda just ruined Eddington’s forever for me.

Very funny Mr. T .
It’s Friday and I have had 3 Mountain Dews which I got out of the
same fridge as the guys in the warehouse–
I am just having mine in a monogrammed crystal glass:)
Is there a place in town that serves good soup in crystal bowls?

I don’t feel so good talking about soup now.

I feel kind of queasy in the tummy!

All you can eat soup is all well and good until someone pukes up pee.

Black Melly FTW!

But I was off Eddington’s long ago. Once I saw the state of the kitchen in the City Center branch I was done.

The Wisconsin Cheese Soup at Eddington’s DOES kind of looks like… oh nevermind!

Have I mentioned how much I love when Melly stops by MNSpeak? It makes me so happy I could just pee in some soup.

Melinda Jacobs: “It’s Friday and I have had 3 Mountain Dews which I got out of the

I am drinking diet Mountain Dew even as we speak. But I am drinking it out of a plastic bottle.

I can’t be trusted with nice things, unfortunately.

Nevertheless, I raise my bottle to you on this Friday afternoon, and I hope you have a very excellent weekend.

Is there a place in town that serves good soup in crystal bowls?

Macy’s? Waterford, Ireland?

Jason is wasn’t pee it was pea stop—-
It’s Friday- it’s crappy out and I don’t feel like
using perfect spelling OOOOO KKKKK AAAAAA YYYYYY

:-) I know Melly. I’m just being hilarious; hangin out at MNSpeak, makin’ pee jokes.

Why do you have to be such a dick jderusha, why?

Jeeez.

I’d rather pee soup than pee salad.

Come on I am not going to pay retail for Crystal from Macy’s and
than take the time to go all the way over to the food court to get
soup that is always cold–pour the cold soup in my over priced crystal bowl—only to be told there is no microwave to heat it up—-and than run into the
bathroom rinse the bowl out and go back to the register with my receipt
and ask for a refund… Please I am a VERY VERY busy woman.

I think I just passed a garbonzo.

I find that crystal takes away my appetite.

The mountain do is dewing wonders for the comedy stylings of Melinda. Well played.

Grote you are missing out!

I would like to go on the record as saying that although Melindas spelling can occasionally be a little wonky, I am actually a fan of her column, and I suspect Jason might say the same. It is the only society column I take the trouble to read on a regular basis outside of Vanity Fair and, when I was younger and even more foolish, Tatler.

The primary reason I like her writing is that she has a refreshingly robust and take-no-prisoners attitude to society that can often be very absorbing. I have yet to read a society columnist quite so bold in her views regarding the subject on which she writes. Actually, would that more columnists of any kind were so bluntly honest.

I have a lot of respect for that, and its a lot more interesting to read than CJs column. Melinda Jacobs is alright by me and Im always happy to see her on MNSpeak.

thanks Jason:) Just trying to not focus on all the crap that is sitting in
boxes that some people call ART.

I think I just passed a garbonzo.

I think I just had a pee soup accident in my pants.

Good thing I’m taking them off soon.

Melinda Jacobs May 2 2008

Hang on guys I want to show you some of the ART I get to look at Everyday:) Gotta grab my camera–be right back

Show us the Mt. Dew in goblets, too. :)

Since everyone knows and loves each other and I don’t have
the software to post pics—-I will send my post to Ms. Cristina
and attach a few photos along with a very serious rant about ART.
Time to switch over:)

Happy to, Ms. Mellie.

The suck-up alert should have gone off at 4:21 p.m.

What’s the matter with this shop?

Mr.T, I think I just shed a tear; a little tear of pee soup.

Melly, I’ve been sitting here for two hours waiting for a link. What’s up with that?

Snubbed again by a society type, JACC.

You shoulda known.

The Rat: “The suck-up alert should have gone off at 4:21 p.m.”

They have these soups at the Costco.
I looked at the sodium content and they are extremely high. Almost 1500mg per serving. TOO HIGH for me so no soup for me!

Have fun yall…
