Good Company…I totally forgot about that show. They followed their son around my elementary school on his first day of school with their cameras and it was weird. I mean, it’s weird enough when parents film their kids walking into school, the camera crew was just fucking ridiculous.
5:53 am
Later today, the only locally-owned Twin Cities TV station (KSTP channel 5) launched their new 3 PM locally produced/hosted program.
Mixed…tenses…do not…compute

As MNSpeak regulars probably know, I work as a producer on this show – and I’d love to hear how you guys feel about it, what you think we should be covering, what we’re doing right and what we can do better.
It’s been a lot of hard work over the past few months and it’s really exciting to finally go live!
10:21 am
Josie, was that you walking in handing the bags of books to the U of M student? I want cameos of you in the show.
(I thought the hosts did a real nice job, especially the dude.)
11:03 am
I can’t really watch afternoon TV and didn’t see it yesterday, but my first thought reading about it was that someone finally brought back Mike and Maty. I thought (and still do) that it was TV genius. Unfortunately no one else did.
11:03 am
That was me! I got a lot of comments on my shoes from people I knew who were watching, which was weird to me because I was on for, like, six seconds.
11:06 am
Kevin, you can see many of our segments online!
As far as the U of M student – her foundation received a lot of donations after yesterday’s appearance which warmed my heart muchly. Check her website out and drop her a few bucks if you’ve got it.
11:16 am
has limited viewing of this site (http://www.twincitieslive.com/), due to the rating of its content (pornography, nudity).
Jeebus do I hate Internet filters.
11:44 am
OMG you stole Kelly Clarkson’s outfit!
I can’t wait to see the segment where they play drums on the exercise balls.
12:08 pm
I predict it won’t be long before we see Stan Hubbard’s Right Wing bias come into play. Lots of fluffy “At Home” pieces with First Lady Mary Polenta, “Goin’ Fishin’ with Norm Coleman” and ‘Shopping at the MOA with Michelle Bachmann.”
IMHO the entire thing is set up strictly for that purpose. It will be like Fox & Friends in the afternoon.
They would have been better off hiring Laurie and Julia from that chick talk radio show or Colleen Kruse and that fat headed chef to host if they really wanted to attract women to the show instead of another anonymous Ken & Barbie.
LONG LIVE GARY LUMPKIN!
12:11 pm
Oh, Rainy. You’re fun.
12:21 pm

You can’t go wrong with pets. You should have a weekly special about a pet of the week on Fridays.
12:29 pm
You know, swandog might just have something there…
12:29 pm
Well, Norm’s wife does have a nifty product she’s promoting.
12:33 pm
Yep. Tune in Friday to see that, Kev.
Do you think Laurie Coleman has slept in the same state as Norm Coleman in the past five years?
I wonder what he has to pay her to keep her trap shut about their mirage marriage…
12:36 pm
We will have a dog trainer on tomorrow’s show – complete with puppy – which is sure to be adorable.
12:37 pm
Bring back Chef Tell.
Very zimple. Very eazzy.
1:04 pm
I think it would be great if you had a segment where reporters from Channel 5 share their “stories behind the stories.”
I’d love to hear how they get tough interviews, how they face parents who have just lost loved ones, or what types of funny things happen behind the scenes.
Just a thougth. Otherwise, I like it so far!
1:11 pm
Is anyone working on creating a dancing Josie with white boots?
1:16 pm
That would make my life complete.
1:27 pm
Josie, congrats on your show going live, sorry we couldn’t catch it but intend to do so soon.
Couple-o-suggetions: interview some of the MNspeakers, there is a potential for looking into the job market as well as the entertainment field right under your nose (so to speak). Hell, we gots lawyers, entertainers, real estate people, all professionals most of the time. Max alone is an entertainer, writer, foodie, boozie guy. DougG is a writer. We even have a guy that has his own band. Then there’s this guy from ch4, DeRusha?, what an interview coup for ch5 that would be huh? (hee hee) Anyway there’s a wealth here I tells ya, a wealth.
1:33 pm
I am a boozie. My foodiness is mostly relegated to eating weird Chinese candy, however.
2:19 pm
I’d be happy to be a recurring guest on the show, Josie.
2:30 pm
Only if DeRusha wears the bangs….
2:42 pm
Besides, DeRusha is the KING of MNspeaker interviews.
From the vault:
Alexis
Ranty
Me
Pillow Fight!
Courtney
Who else am I forgetting?
2:43 pm
Don’t let his hat and glasses fool you, Max works hard!
2:48 pm
How about a weekly TCL segment where Max sits down on his circle bed with a guest for an interview. “In the Sparber Circle” it could be called.
Or, random video of the circle bed rolling down a twin city’s street. First caller to identify which street it is wins a prize.
2:50 pm
I’m glad you understand the importance of circle bed.
2:51 pm
Here’s the Max story. But enough about me. Go watch Josie’s show in ten minutes.
3:05 pm
Don’t patronize me, max. I know you and your alien overlords will still boil my brains after the invasion.
3:54 pm
Speaking of interviews, what happened to 7Q? I’ve got some answers that have gone unquestioned!
3:59 pm
“Sparber’s coworkers download pictures of bunnies, so he’s not too worried about losing his job over this.”
I didn’t know Max used to work with my wife.
4:02 pm
“Her name is Tammi, a 37-year-old Coon Rapids woman with a big smile and an even bigger mop of blond hair. She never finished college, lives on a budget, shops religiously at Target and puts her family above everything else.”
This is your target market? – I think I’m going to vomit.
8:28 pm
It’s 7QQ, Bix, and I have an unpublished one with a guitarist/greenie from Guster in MNspeak Unfiltered, just waiting for the light of day..
9:27 pm

I’m so not the target market! Although I do love me a good Supa Target visit.
My foodiness is mostly relegated to eating weird Chinese candy, however.
Everything is weird Chinese. We’re going to take over the world and then it will be more than candy that will be weird. Bwahhaahaaaaa.
Sorry. I think the term weird Chinese is a trigger for me.
Back to topic.
11:40 am
“Tammi” might be interested in learning more about The Shocker…
8:55 am
I thought the new KSTP afternoon program was terrific! Just what the community needs! Sometimes the topics were changed abruptly and the male host often interrupted! Just beginning-week nerves, I suppose. It’s improving every day. Loves the shots of the workers in the studio (behind the scenes).

Yeah, not really the place for that, Katie. Email us if you think it’s something that we might link to, or buy an ad, but please don’t spam unreleated threads with pleas for money.
