D&D Creator Gary Gygax passes away

Save vs. Death.

This is rather coincidental for me, as I’m playing D’n'D with some friends tonight (i’m doing it for the bf because i’m the best gf ever). Perhaps we will have a moment of silence in between fighting skeletons and warding off hordes of barbarians.

I’m sure one of my ex’s is crying himself to sleep clutching his 30 sided die tonight.

I remember starting to play Dungeons and Dragons (Basic D&D, before the AD&D books were printed) in 1976. I returned from vacation and my friend’s brother had purchased it. I spent many hours filling in those golden rod player sheets rolling D20 for save. It also was always such a pain to get two sided copies of the player sheets, duplex copiers weren’t quite as available then. I have most of the Dragon Magazines from I think about #23 to #200.

Sad to see Gary die, someone that brought the acceptable of non-six sided dice to the people. My favorite die was always the dodecahedron. It was extremely underutilized.

I missed the day they taught D & D in Nerd School.

I think I was out cutting the heads off parking meters or something.

He should have saved his lucky 20-sided die. At least we’ll always have Futurama.

RIP Mr. Gygax.

Sooner or later we all roll a crit.

Greyhawk won’t be the same without you.

Always sad to see a great American run out of hit points.

“Greyhawk” is also the name of my pube cut.

I can’t tell you how happy I am to finally see “dodecahedron” in a MNspeak thread.

Can’t someone find a high enough level cleric to cast a resurrect spell?
