A revised version of the earlier post.

Ahh, nothing like the omnipotent power of big brother.

There are few things I hate more than censorship which has just been performed on this post. Lame and crappy.

Long live free speech!

Sorry, Vlado, but the previous post had people almost completely ignoring the link, and the language of the post, although meant sarcastically, had people feeling the post was deliberately mischaracterizing the article.

@vlado

Nothing I hate more than people who don’t know what censorship means.

That post *really* required this much comment deletion? Talk about an abuse of power. People have gotten way more ridiculous on other threads. It’s pretty obvious what this is about. Disappointing.

Re: Yoshi

Do elaborate, I am interested in refining my definition.

Here are the previous comments. My only point in revising this thread was to make the post more clearly reflect the story it linked to.

Yeah, what’s next? Are we going to start deleting things here because they’re stupid or untrue?

I don’t have that kind of time to spend deleting things.

Vlado:

Censorship is when government thugs break into you offices, smash your presses, beat you up and throw you in jail.

Then you know you’ve been censored.

Vlad – ask your dad about government censorship. He probably can tell you alot about it.

God, people, get a life. People screeched about the first post and now they’re screeching about the revised one. Talk about “can’t win for losing.”

I think people should give Cristina a break. Maybe because she hasn’t commented a lot in recent months, people aren’t familiar with her sense of humor. But it would be nice if people didn’t immediately assume the worst.

FWIW: She’s funny, sarcastic, smart, and trying to provoke thought. Which is better than most of the provoking that goes on around here.

This is not a newspaper. People have different voices and different approaches. Try to roll with it.

Yeah, I assumed she was being eye-rolling sarcastic about the “environmental costs of printing the strib” because as we all know, no trees die to make paper … trees die to make lumber and pulp for paper is made from the scraps of that endeavor. The problem is, we don’t really know anymore if the author of that piece was writing tongue-in-cheek or if he was actually ignorant of the process, such is the state of today’s journalism. :-)

Talk about “can’t win for losing.”

MnSpeak’a got the grumples!
