Skinhead fever strikes City Pages

I read that at lunch today. My overriding question is this: is the Ciaran mentioned prominently in the CP story the same Ciaran (Daly, I believe) who wrote the piece on Marsh’s blog? if so, it would explain his aversion to the racist dudes on scooters.

I think they look like they needed a kitten to pose with in that picture. Really softens the image and makes you more likable.

Grote,

After scanning the article, I would presume not the same Ciaran.

three or more skins kicking the offending party mercilessly with steel-toed Docs.

Doc Martin’s didn’t make a steel toe boot until like 10 years ago, they were likely wearing NANA’s or London Underground.

Fact Check aisle 1!

I’ve always thought skinheads were a bit silly, and this doesn’t change my opinion.

Plus, they don’t age very well.

Loved the cop quote: “They seemed to me to be bored kids looking for attention.”

skinheads or bloggers?

Is there much of a difference?

Wish the article focused on more of the non-ass kicking aspects of the Baldies and what Uptown used to be for so many young people in the late 80s and early 90s . . .

Thanks for the follow up. I was involved in several ARA chapters while in high school and still support them. The Baldies spawned something great…. kudos to them.
