But, if we make HPV vacs mandatory, there won't be any incentive for kids to wait until marriage for sex!

I hope they can do more studies on HPV vaccination in males--it will certainly help cut down transmission if they can get it, too (not to mention gay men and anal cancer due to HPV).

I just barely made it age-wise for my HPV vacs to be covered by insurance.

I think they should require the shot. It would have saved me a lot of time, money and stress if I would have had it. HPV led to me getting quarterly paps, a biopsy and a couple major freakouts back in 2002.

And HPV isn't your normal STD. Basically, condoms don't protect you and many, many people have it. You can actually get it from your mom when she gives birth to you, so some are screwed from day one.

And so, if you are out there and young enough to get the shot and plan on having sex with anyone, ever, who isn't a virgin, go get the shot.

hooray for another section 42 article! my favourite section of the tax code!

also, thanks to section 42, my rent increase from back in december ($15 again this year) got DECREASED by $10 because of how much (or rather how little) I make! So my rent only went up by $5 for this year and I get $20 in credit for my last two months of rent where I've overpaid.

Hooray!

It blows my mind that the health department is not "recommending" this shot. Such an easy way to help prevent a terrible cancer.

$$$. If the Health Department were to recommend it, They'll need to start covering the cost as part of their vaccination programs.

As I said in the Open Fly Thread, the headline "Cleaner power plant yields higher costs, more emissions" on the link is rather misleading.

Higher costs for natural gas, yes, but not neccisarily for the consumer. More emissions? No. Even with the Rock-Tenn plant turning to fuel oil, the net reduction in emmisions is 40% from the days when the High Bridge plant used coal instead of natural gas.
