Can't be more predictable than yankees.
Enh, at least some good came out of it. Eventually.
If Hardy can find his form from two years ago it will be a fantastic trade. Go-go was at best a defensive center fielder. If he could have learne...
I agree. The Yankees are boringly predictable.
This is why the Twins are the Twins and the Yankees are the Yankees. Let's see, should we go for Hardy or Teixera? Hmmm.
I tink peraps it is te curc of Crist, Marybet414.
If I can c(h)ime in...I left the 'H' behind years ago and indeed there is no better way. The church of Crist... Bless you all.
I like the guy, but I have to admit he was a bit disappointing.
Just about every time we went to a game at the dome, you'd hear "fans" (quote marks emphasized) trashing GoGo loudly, which made me want to stand ...

I can’t be the only one who find this to be just lazy political cartooning.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…well, that still doesn’t make it a Nazi, but it’s pretty obvious to everyone what Murphy’s tune is.
My all-time dream scenario is for Molnau to get booted from MNDOT and have Pawlenty nominate Steve Murhpy as her replacement. He accepts and then when Pawlenty leaves to run for Vice President, Molnau becomes Murhpy’s boss. Ah for dreams.

you don’t suppose this could end up before the Minnesota News Council?
6:09 pm
Doubt it.
6:29 pm
That’s not fair Kev. You constantly squeal like a lil nazi pig but I have yet to call you one.
The real question I have is why are so many Repubs afraid of someone asking hard questions about MNDot and this horrible tragedy?
If you ain’t got nothing to hide, why so fucking defensive?
Smells like teen guilt to me.

Sure. Let’s investigate welfare just as hard then, including dragging all the DHS officials out before the cameras for a public waterboarding.
7:07 pm
One has to wonder if when Kevin says “welfare” he has a definition that is inclusive of corporate welfare. My guess though is that he only means food stamp type programs for poor people. Did WIC collapse and kill 13 people?

Kevin: “Sure. Let’s investigate welfare just as hard then, including dragging all the DHS officials out before the cameras for a public waterboarding.”
Oh Kevin, you know perfectly well that waterboarding is the Way of the Republican.

I love how the cartoonist claims to have no personal political views, and a desire to protect “the little guy without a voice” from “bullies.” Who exactly is the little guy without a voice in this debate?
I do agree with Murphy that the cartoon in question goes beyond the line of civil discourse and fair debate on this issue. I also have been on the recieving end of “the other N Word” — including on this site — and I don’t like it much either. As a public official, he has to take a lot of heat. But he doesn’t have to take this kind of garbage lying down.

Is Sen. Steve Murphy a Nazi?
No, only because he doesn’t have a uniform.
9:13 am
Yeah bob, that caught my eye too. I can’t help but notice a pattern of Republicans who won’t call themselves Republicans but aren’t fooling anybody, and I don’t think that this phenomenon is symmetric about the, uh, moderate axis. Or something.
11:15 am
I had to laugh when I saw that the cartoon “artist” claims to be “fair and balanced.”
I think it’s pretty safe to say that anyone that would use those words to describe and defend themselves is anything but.
And it’s definitely a beyond the pale cartoon. Even if you were to accept that Murphy’s efforts to bring some accountability to MNDOT are over reaching, to suggest that even approaches the Nazis and their genocide is offensive. Not only to Murphy, but to the victims and survivors of the Holocaust.
It’s the reason we have Godwin’s Law.
11:40 am
It is actually breathtaking they way when Republicans see some accountability coming their way they go straight to “our critics are behaving like Nazis only without the uniform!!!!”.
11:41 am
Looks like that cartoonist is more like “fair und ballinst”
1:13 pm
Well let’s see…Murphy’s attitude about the NTSB report is about as close to what the Italians embraced almost a century ago.
Look, I don’t care if the guy served in the Marine corps. As far I could tell, he’s acting like an adult child with mighty temper tantrums. And the DFL elite likes it at any cost since they can almost deprived themselves into power and provoke their agenda on the entire masses.

“Even to a politician, this is unacceptable”
that’s awesome.

The Red Wing Republican Eagle newspaper is named after the Republican Party, so you can expect them to be biased, despite their best efforts to deny it. The paper also has this curious habit of publishing front page photos of accused minority criminals, in some cases going outside the community to find good front page candidates.
Further, they promote unbelievable racist comments from their readers; to quote “It’s no longer my town randy, it’s your TOWN now! When I lived down there(red wing 70’s,80’s) BACK in the DAY, we didn’t have blacks nor hispanics and if we did, then they would have been kept in check!”. Good old Red Neck Red Wing.
The Red Wing paper is a pawn of the extreme right wing of the Republican Party and to a large degree responsible for why Red Wing is getting older and smaller. It is a sad future for this otherwise beautiful little river town.
