I read the great info on heat pumps; however, in all my searches, I have not read any info on the following. I have a heat pump and live where it is very warm in summer but can get to 0-10 degrees 2 or 3 week periods per winter. We do not run any heat at night. Does the freezing temps damage the outside when it is not running? Heat pumps are widely used here, and I seldom hear of people having problems with them, but many run them at night. I’ve also read to have a serviceman check it out if the auxiliary comes on. In 4 years, our auxiliary came on 2 or 3 times, but came out of that mode on its own. Thanks for your comments.
