It is the point when defense contractors also suck off the public teat. Corporate welfare. Puts dollars in Dick Cheney's pockets.

to the state birthday party funding issues. . . boo hoo hoo
beyond the issue of other more pressing needs. . . . why should we fund another lame, politically correct Minnesota Historical Society gathering? the list of activities in the paper and online look fine, why is anything more needed?
why should we fund anything that makes the current state political powers look good? why should we give pawlenty, molnau, et al any chance to cut a ribbon or cake or pose for a photo? cannot believe this was worthy of page one whining in the strib

Can green retailers get into the black?
Yes, if they can figure out how to market themselves. Maybe a central repository of information on local green retailers. If I could go to one place or website and see location and contact information for a majority (or all) of the green retailers in the area, I’d use it quite often. But so far the solutions are a little bit here and a little bit there. It seems to me that those who want to buy green and sustainable products are already sold. We just need help finding what we are looking for.
Maybe if http://www.buylocalmn.com had a green and sustainable sub level for business types.

Yoder, this is close, I think. It’s from the “Blue Sky Guide” people. The bad thing: there’s a lot of non-green things (the Timberwolves? Really?). But it’s a start.

I haven’t seen that before. Thank you. It looks very interesting.
