I like the idea of a food critic reality show. .
Move over Allien vs. Predator we here at Mnspeak have Food Critic vs. Restaurateur - This time it's personal.

I'm sure Disney on Ice would love it if we optioned the rights to perform a holiday special on skates.

Now which side gets toe picks?

I like the idea of a food critic reality show. . . but we could combine it with cubbie's thoughts and put them on skates?
(am really liking watching outdoor hockey on TV -- a sport not played in my home state, inside or outside)

Every third post on Platt's blog is about his "insight" that restauranteurs tend to be lousy businesspeople. Um, no duh. I've noticed the same thing about mimes. I've also noticed that accountants tend to be good businesspeople. Can I have a job as a monthly magazine critic, too?

This food critic cat fight is especially hilarious considering that after all of the bickering over foi gras vs. striped bass and Masa vs. 20.21, their readerships will once again ignore everything they've read and name Kincaids No. 1 in the annual Best Restaurants poll for, like, the 473rd year in a row.

"Ive eaten a lot of meals out over the last week: Cheesecake Factory, Tria, Mortons bar, Chambers Kitchen, Yum! Three of the five meals were deeply flawed, two of those intolerably bad, and only one was not resolutely disappointing in some way."

Wow. That Platt is some kind of wussy. Where are the details of his recent dining experiences? He owes it to the reader and to the one restaurant that served him a decent meal. Otherwise, he's just dealing out the same kind of gossipy innuendo as Zimmern.
