(even allows condoms to be reimbursed).

Which means the single MnSpeak guys should be able to get an extra dollar in deductions this year.
I stand corrected. I just looked up the list for our plan, and it is considerably more lenient in inclusions than I thought (even allows condoms to be reimbursed).

But, they also include this:
Over-the-Counter (OTC) items: The Revenue Ruling that includes OTCs as reimbursable under the spending account implies that these items are only eligible in reasonable quantities. Therefore, you should only purchase and submit quantities that could reasonably be used to treat a presently existing or imminently probable condition.

My impression on most OTC items probably came from this additional warning:

Expenses that are not eligible include vitamins and dietary supplements that are merely beneficial to your or your dependents general health.
Just read the fine print or call your administrator.

That's why I made the comment. Every plan I've participated in, general health products such as cold medicines, aspirin, vitamins, toothpaste, etc. are excluded.

The wording is usually along the lines of that it has to be for a specific, diagnosable condition.

A Dr. might be able to "prescribe" an OTC and get it allowed, for example a person at risk for heart attacks or strokes whose Dr. recommends aspirin.

AND, you are only allowed to "stockpile a "reasonable" quantity, usually 30-60 day supply.

There seems to be some errors in the article though. I've never seen plan that you can use to buy aspirin or other general health related products.

There are a lot of OTC medications that can be bought with flex plan dollars. Just read the fine print or call your administrator.

I loves my flex compensation account. Contacts, solution, hearing aid batteries, co-pays, deductibles, etc.

Target and some other retailers now break out the Health Care Items at the bottom of the receipt. Makes it fairly simple to keep track.

Just don't tell HR that you are returning all that contact solution with a gift receipt for cash. That is against the law.
I've just closed my eyes again
Climbed aboard the dream carpet train
Driver take away my worries of today
And leave tomorrow behind

Dream carpet I belive you can get me trough the night
Dream carpet I belive we can reach the morning light
Fly me high through the starry skies
Maybe to an astral plane
Cross the highways of fantasy
Help me to forget todays pain

And one flip side I've experienced to the use it or lose it is that if you are laid off, and you've spent more in the account than has been withheld at that point, you don't have to pay back the difference.

Read the first comment on the link to the Internet Radicalization Bill story.

Classic.
Kathy has some serious issues. Either that or I haven't given the governement nearly enough credit for inventing a machine that can insert white shag carpeting into your dreams.
