Holiday Week in the Twin Cities

Bottle of gin and tears of regret and loneliness to water it down.

I used to cater the annual luncheon that Lorie Line has with Satan. Good times.

For some reason I enjoy art museums during the holidays..I think it may have more to do with the gift shops than the art though….

I have always wanted to go to the James J Hill house and see their little holiday tour.

I have enjoyed “The Nutcracker Not So Suite” by Ballet of the Dolls.

Does Sweet Lou sing holiday tunes at Nye’s?

Take them someplace warm.

La Natividad at the Heart of the Beast was awesome last year. I’m going again this year.

I’ve always wanted to see Ms. Richfield 1981’s Christmas Extravaganza.

When I’m in the Twin Cities at Christmas its yule logs. Lots and lots of yule logs. In my fanny.

If you’re looking for something holiday neutral you could check out Charles Keating’s one-man show “Aye, aye for ‘I and I’ ” at Guthrie’s Dowling stage.

And ofcourse you should take them sliding.

A few of us are hosting a Twin Cities Interactive Community (TCIC) Holiday Party at the Bulldog NE on the 18th from 5:30 on. Since you kind of are, well, the Interactive Community, consider yourself welcome. This started as a Facebook group, so if you really want to be all internet n’ crap, join the group, then I’ll send out additional invites in the days to come.

It’s all lo-key, no agenda, non-business, only conversation and booze, and we are hoping to line-up some local indie Djs from within the community and so on to put on some sets. If you’re interested in that, then email me at andrew at ciceron dot com to get slotted.

That Lorie Line show always freaks me out a little. And yet I worship her marketing, Disney-like, holiday alter.

6. Honor our neighbors to the East by getting loaded on Korbel.

Basically, eat, drink, run around in the cold. Repeat.

I would like to pimp my own Facebook event for those MNSpeakers that would like to help me celebrate my 30th Birthday. Come one, come all, bitches!

I don’t know what krumkakke is, but if it’s anything like bukakke count me in.

grote, there’s an old Barry Manilow tune that says “I write the songs that make the young girls cry.”

You post the posts that make the old guys hurl.

Give it up for you, brah!

Um, hello? The ultimate Twin Cities holiday tradition is on the 8th floor at the downtown Dayton’s, Marshall Field’s, and, now, Macy’s.

If you like swarms of human masses that is.

Some great shows here for the holidays

skipping town to go back to the dismal suburbs of california where the only white on christmas is either the fog or your pasty neighbours.

I mean, that’s my TC holiday tradition.

Brave New Workshop holiday show! Who can pass up The Angry Fathers Chorus and The Shrieking Mothers Chorus?! Holiday gold.

Rich and I also took in Santaland Diaries at BLB this year. Very funny.

Anybody want to take a shot at reminding me what’s supposed to be good about this season? Because once again, mine got crapped over big time.

Your good vibes apparently didn’t work, Cat. I just got back from the ENT, and it’s wasn’t good news.
