Why is everyone confused about skyway hours? I refuse to register for twincities.com yet inquiring minds want to know!

I’m here for you Christine:
An analysis of skyway closing times shows building owners are locking up at a range of hours, rather than adhering to the expected closing time of 2 a.m. On weekends, some shutter their skyway connections entirely….

Over 15 years, the city brokered individual agreements with building owners regarding their skyway hours. Now, more than 100 contracts are looming out there, each assigning different hours.

Thank you!

It does suck when it’s raining outside and I jump into the skyway only to discover that Macy’s skyway isn’t open yet.

Skyways little cities of their own. Neat!

I saw that fake cop thing on the news last night, scary…

Also from the CP story: third degree sexual assault of a 16 year old would only get you 15 years? I don’t understand how forcing your way into a home and forcibly raping a minor is a third degree felony.

The skyway in a bulding next to my office auto-locks (both ways) at quarter after six. Imagine my dismay to take a phone call in there (versus the office which has poor reception and zero privacy) at about… 6:13. No keycard to get back in my building, I had to sneak through a well-known door in the alley marked as a private entrance to get to another building on the block, so I could get back into my own.

Even St. Paul’s limited skyway restrictions are better than Mpls’ almost total lack of skyway access after working hours (and all weekend). Much of the St. Paul system is municipally owned, isn’t it?

Yeah, the skyway between the Plymouth Building and 50 S. Sixth closes insanely early. I think once I tried to use it at around 7pm and it was locked.

Also, I think the sex crimes unit is on Tuesday nights at 9pm on NBC. Like it has been for quite some time. It didn’t disappear. The major case squad did, however, move to USA network on Thursday nights and the regular case squad will reappear in a few months or something. Honestly, why doesn’t someone at City Pages just pick up a freakin’ TV Guide.
