I think I just creamed myself at the idea of andrew bird AT THE FUCKING GUTHRIE!
I gotta go clean up my pants.

Andrew Bird was absolutely brilliant warming up last night for Wilco @ Northrup. Those two acts together almost broke my Joy-o-Meter. Bird and Wilco both seemed engaged, inspired, and grateful. Just a beautiful night.

Can we be done with Tay Zonday now? He’s had his run, and it was entertaining for a bit, but the vid from his First Ave show? P-A-I-N-F-U-L!
I think the vid is about 5 minutes and I was only able to get through 30 seconds of it before I wanted to open a vein.

I can confirm nateek’s analysis.

Wayne, tickets for those Andrew shows are onsale NOW via the Guthrie Box office, give ‘em a call, i scored 2 front row (well they’re row D, apparently row’s A-C are harder to see the stage from, so they’re not considered as good) for both nights.
as for Andrew’s set last night, it was really nice, don’t get me wrong, but far from great imo. I’ve seen Andrew about a dozen or so times over the years and it wasn’t among his best. excited for these Guthrie shows though.

I love Dan Wilson, he makes even the Dixie Chicks sound great. Will to try hit up the Fetus for his free show. All About Chemistry was the last album I can remember buying.
2:49 pm
how much are they running?
2:55 pm
$29.50…
bit spendy for Andrew, but it is at the Guthrie and they should be really nice and long shows i’m hoping/guessing…
plus my b-day is the week after, so why not
2:58 pm
oh, and no fees since it’s through the Guthrie…
so if it was to have been at a venue that goes through Ticketmaster, even if the tickets were only $20, they would have been over $29.50 after TM Fees.
basically i’m just trying to justify it anyway i can
, but i’ve never been disappointed seeing Andrew

You want a great show for cheap…Damo Suzuki of CAN is playing with a handpicked local quartet @ Coffman tomorrow night for $3…
