Hello everyone, I had previously submitted a post about moving to the twin cities. We received much help and advice and are now dead set on moving. After much research and input from others we are now focusing in on the St. Paul area as opposed to Minneapolis. We have booked a weekend in the downtown St Paul area in the middle of Nov. Any advice on specific areas would be great, we have heard good things about St Anthony and Cathedral Hill, any other information would be great. Also, if anyone has any reality groups they can refer us to would help as well. Lastly people said our price range would help……looking at places to rent up to 950.00 or so. Thanks again

You could check out the Grand Avenue area as well as Summit. Though not in downtown St.Paul they have some of the greatest/cutest neighborhoods I’ve ever come across.

The only thing I don’t like about Minnesota is high taxes (keep on rising!) and poor performing schools.
St. Anthony is a small neighborhood outside of downtown Minneapolise and adjacent to NE Minneapolis.
Rent averages $650 for a one bedroom and $850 for a two bedroom. Houses average $1,000-$1,500 a month for rent. That does depend on neighborhood and what kind of apartment, of course.
Nice Neighborhoods:
Summit-Grand, St. Paul
Macalester, St. Paul
Ramsey-Hill, St. Paul
West St. Paul
Near Beaver Lake in East St. Paul
Falcon Heights (near Como in St. Paul)
The city of Roseville (15 min away)
The city of Maplewood (15 min away)
The city of Edina (20-25 min away)
Lake Harriet, Minneapolis
Lake Calhoun, Minneapolis
Hiawatha, Minneapolis
Near Minnehaha Creek, Minneapolis
Bad Reputation:
Frogtown
North Minneapolis
Phillips
Chicago-Lake
