Looks like Mr. Hallett has backpedaled and amended his column with the following statement at the beginning:

NOTE: Apparently, I didn't make clear that I'm mourning Johnny Ramones loss in retrospect here in these pages, so please keep in mind that I realize Johnny's actual passing happened several years ago and that, despite appearances, I am not insane or caught in some kind of time-warp. Sorry for any misunderstandings- thanks to Stevie "Wonder" B. for catching this error when he did!! I'm still playing a live Ramones gig from '76 tonight at my DJ gig in honor of Johnny, and I plan on cranking it to "11." I hope you all do/have done the same. Hey Ho- Let's Go!!

That's just weird. In a reply to a comment further down the page (which I guess you can't edit) he clearly signs it RIP - JOHNNY RAMONE 19482007. And there's really no mistaking what he meant when he ORIGINALLY wrote this: "I'm draggin' ass today because this past weekend we lost the third founding member of The Ramones in a decade. Johnny, King Of The Three Chord (and sometimes two) Guitars, passed away on Sat., 9/15."

This is like some Alberto Gonzales-level stuff.

Phillip,

the Treehouse vs. Ian Anderson thing MIGHT have been newsworthy when it actually happened...

Back in JULY...

maybe it is "newsworthy", but why not contact the Strib, PP, or City Pages, instead of an up and coming online only magazine with a pretty small readership at this point.

Trehus whined constantly to us on the Modern Radio message board about it until the mods and other members got sick and tired of it. i support Mark, but he's gone about this thing all wrong so far. if he truly has as good of case as he says he claims, he should have already taken Ian's ass to court, but methinks he realizes that legally he doesn't have that great of a case.

From a few lawyer friends i've talked to about the issue, what Ian has been accused of, while shady, isn't illegal. he's accused of overcharging for his work, which is something that as a business manager, Trehus is in charge of taking care of (and should have noticed long before 9 months).

What would you rather do, stick your head in a boiling pot of asphalt for one hour or read Hallett's blog entry?

R.I.P Johnny Ramone, 1948 - 2007... classic! He's even got it in his sig line...
I can't believe that the Reveille folks took Tom Hallett along with them in the first place. They're well rid of him. Reading his columns is like putting a high-pressure water hose into your eye. And the Johnny Ramone thing is so perfectly botched that it's almost a work of art. But he's right that "what the hell is going on between Treehouse Records and Ian Anderson" is newsworthy.

Ditto MunsingW's request.

That blog entry was pretty much incomprehensible.
