One who agrees with voting NO Sep 3 2007

Home owners as well as renters get tired of their property taxes going up all the time.

It’s time the school districts are held accountable for every penny they spend. No business would survive with the waste that goes on in the school districts.Sure things cost more now than years ago, but they should be able to justify there expenditures and do everything they can to keep costs in line instead of always demanding more.

Robbinsdale School District #281 superindendent Stan Mack has two, yes two highly paid over qualified assistants making over $100,000 each per year. Both of these people have the qualifications to be a school superintentent which is vey unneeded. What school district, especially one no bigger than Robbinsdale needs more than one, unless the one is not doing his job. One or two lower paid office workers could do the same job and save a bunch of money. Make sure you vote no to their referendum come November. It will cost the average tax payer twenty to thirty dollars more a month in taxes if it goes through.

“What was that? Did you see that? It was just a squirrel.”

Watching Wendell’s videos about the spooky and haunted Wabasha Street caves put in mind of two things. First was a scene from “Ghostbusters” where Stantz and Spengler declared a stack of books in a library basement to be clear evidence of paranorman activity. Venkman’s repy was “You’re right, no human being would stack books like this.”

The Second think I thought of was the advice the great Bob Yates gave some of his more incoherent callers: “Sir, next time try more ice (in your drink).”

What school district, especially one no bigger than Robbinsdale needs more than one, unless the one is not doing his job.

You’re an illogical and smarmy windbag. This is your reasoning? – “What the hell, nobody needs these two assistants, especially small districts like Robbinsdale, so vote no for this multi-million dollar referendum”? Why not? What do they do? You’ve told us nothing of any value – you’ve made them sound like secretaries, your entire objection to the levy is based on these two positions, you’ve inferred that no other comparable districts would EVER waste money on such positions (a bald-faced lie by itself) – you’re smearing pretty good people with your no-mind venal crap (I’ve known Stan Mack, and I’m thinking if you’re representative of Robbinsdale, you don’t deserve Mr. Mack) – you obviously have no clue what this referendum will fund – in short, you’re comfortable lying and trashing other people and showing your ignorance because you think other voters may be just as stupid as you and will make decisions based on the immaterial, ignorant bullshit you just wrote.

If I lived in Robbinsdale, I’d read your crap and decide that if you’re against it, it must be good. Here’s hopin’ for a landslide.

You failed to read the whole thing. Robbinsdale Taxpayer is right, but didn’t go far enough with what he said. Their superintendent may need two assistants to aid him in his job, but do they really need to be superindendent qualified, I doubt it. That is what the Robbinsdale taxpayer is saying. Most likely he could use some trained office help to do most of their tasks and save a bunch of money at the same time, or perhaps just have one that is superindendent qualified and one that’s not. I agree with the Robbinsdale tax payer that the school districts should justify why they need the money and what it will be used for. The money is not theirs to spend on unneeded things. The money belongs to the tax payers. They often fail to explain these things to the public. They need to spend it wisely on what is really needed, even if it means some cuts in other things that are not needed as much. In a perfect world there would be enough money for all these things. The world is not perfect though. No place did they blast Stan Mack personally. It sounds to me like they are just frustrated with ever rising property taxes like most of us are and is questioning some of his actions, which every one needs to do now and then with their community leaders and others do things we may not agree with. The voters need to know both sides of this referendum issue and how it will effect them before they vote. I myself would propably vote no as well as I really think their present way of spending and raising money could be fastly improved.

I have read your comments with interest. I am a taxpayer in the Robbinsdale School District. As a property owner, I would encourage you to review data related to property values of well funded schools versus those that are not well funded. The deltas are considerable. If you don’t care about kids, care about your property values. Those of us who live in the district are well aware of our locations as “tweener” communities. A vote against school investment will adversely affect property value. I encpouook into the data and compare property values where referendums have failed and where they have passed. Think of the larger impact and take time to research facts and data independent of lingo and propagandized information.

Correction to above statement: I encourage you to look into the data and compare property values where referendums have failed and where they have passed. Think of the larger impact and take time to research facts and data independent of lingo and propagandized information.
