I would recommend Eden Prairie, Chaska, Chanhassen & Victoria. I agree with the previous comment that Eden Prairie isn't as pedestrian friendly but they are working on that. The Clover Field development in Chaska is quite nice and very "community" oriented. When 212 is finished out that way it will be a very quick commute. At that price you can find lots of new and existing construction in the SW suburbs and I think you'll be quite happy with what you find.

For that kind of cash, you can get a sweet house in MN. Eden Prairie has lots of nice new houses, but it's car-centric. And a real pain in the ass to drive in.

Try South Minneapolis (Linden Hills, Kenwood, Tangletown) or Edina. You'll get walkable, but it might be tricky to find much in the way of newer construction. Everyone mocks Edina as the cake eater suburb, but it's actually very pretty. Richfield is ugly. Bloomington and Burnsville are very suburban and meh. You could do Minnetonka or Hopkins, but those take you further from the airport.

Spending that much money in this market, the realtor had better be really, really, good. If not, throw out a line on here- I know a great realtor, and there are several who post here.
