From the bicyclists blog:
“It has to do with the Constitutional right to free unrestricted passage and equally easy access given to those who choose to travel by bicycle.”
They didn’t even have bicycles when they wrote the Constitiion.
Couldn’t he just walk with his bike until he got off airport property?
The story says he’s a guy who “stands up for his beliefs”
What beliefs?
8:47 am
The belief that the Founding Fathers were bicyclists.

I wish the article on the Aussie politico was longer, so he could explain how our cab drivers in Minnesota are “pretty agressively Muslim,” and how we Minnesotans have achieved racial peace and harmony, with black citizens having reaching that pinnacle of U.S. political and social power:”managing the local supermarket.”

Sad about the doggy.
Yet another reason to use free city woodchips, I guess.

Tip: The free woodchips some city compost sites provide are a little rough looking for some homeowners tastes. So just use ‘em as a base and cover with the good stuff (I use shredded cyprus mulch , no dye). You save a lot of money and it looks the same as an all premium woodchip pile.

I expect the argument could be made that being tazed is a temporary interruption in the pursuit of happiness.
Besides, it’s a little known fact that the American Revolution was actually a Critical Mass event that got off-topic.

I know we covered this cyclist guy ad nauseam a few weeks ago, but now that it’s in court I’m re-intrigued. It will be interesting to see if he comes off as a whiny idealist who got what he deserved at the hands of just cops or a pesky rascal who got abused by The Man. There’s little doubt this story has some real legs.
In a similar vein, whatever happened with the deaf man who got treated pretty brutally by the cops? I missed how that saga resolved.
Hi Maz. Good to see you pop in every so often.
10:16 am
Good idea, Bob.
10:39 am
pop goes the bubble!
10:41 am
Is it too much to hope that the video of the cops pummeling this hippie could wind up on Youtube? I would watch that video all. day. long.
10:51 am
Goddam porkers.

anyone want to get some popcorn and head down to court?
11:24 am
The deaf man’s trial has been continued until September. He wants a jury trial.

anyone want to get some popcorn and head down to court?
You can’t afford popcorn anymore. I blame…..

Thanks for the update Jason.
Between these two stories, it will be interesting to see how the police force weathers some seemingly uphill PR battles.
I, for one, am pro-cops. In the last couple of months:
– my home was broken into and the cops caught the kid within 30 minutes of me calling 911
– I was pulled over for speeding on the Hennepin Ave. bridge and was let off with a “Okay pal, watch your speed.”
Heck, it’s been years sinced I’ve been tazed!
11:41 am
Weathering an uphill battle is almost harder than throwing horseshoes at ducks on a pond…
BTW – the kid who broke into my house threw the watch my wife gave me onto 394. If you pulled over and grabbed it I really want it back.

That Jersey steer is really cute and the crabby neighbor needs to unclench and/or get a life. Justice has been served! My heart is warmed.

I doubt that you’re alone in your sentiment nate. The prevailing attitude here seems to be anyone the cops decide to beat down or shot got what he had coming.
Not sure how wise Mr. Bahl is going to jury. Juries are notoriously pro-cops as it is.
Given the exceedingly small odds of him getting a deaf person in the jury pool, let alone on the jury, he’s very unlikely to have anyone on the jury with an understanding or empathy for how a deaf person might try to draw attention to the fact that he is deaf, or how a deaf person who “listens” visually might panic when they get pepper sprayed in the eyes. I’m not too optimistic about his chances.

I loved that cow story. The best all year.
