For fans of good drinking in Minneapolis and St. Paul, you now have a magazine you can turn to for news, events, and in-depth writing about beer, spirits, and coffee. Their first issue, which should be out on the newsstands soon, is available for free download from their Web site.

I am not involved with it, lest you think this is some autopimping.

Is this just a sexed-up version of Modern Drunkard? What happened to that mag? I miss it….it was so over the top as to be quite funny sometimes.
“Rubbing alcohol for you, Martha?”

Modern Drunkard seems to still exist: or at least their website still gets the occasional update. Haven’t seen any hard copies around lately though.
Twin Cities Imbiber strikes me as a posh rag for indie yuppies, the antithesis of Modern Drunkard. Even so, the Imbiber should probably should ditch the “coffee” escape clause in their theme: a mere glance of that pint of beer sitting next to a cup of cappuccino on their inaugural cover (not to mention the headline “Espresso Defined”) makes the stomach churn! People do not “imbibe” coffee: they blow on it and sip it.

Bottlegang is better!

Bottlegang better? Hm. Definitely more long-winded and pedantic and erratic in terms of accuracy.
By why compare the two publications? They’re completely different beasts…
