Vice President Pawlenty? No.

Besides, isn’t his boy McCain kind of a long shot these days anyway?

All of the named candidates, on all sides, seem like long shots these days. I’m guessing the 2008 prez winner will be someone not even on the radar right now.

McCain does not stand a chance of being nominated. Our Gov is betting on the wrong horse which means he’ll be around for a 3rd term.

I would think that any presidential candidate would want someone who would help his/her campaign. That totally leaves Pawlenty out. I don’t think he would even help to carry Minnesota…

I have to question the judgment of someone who thought McCain was the right man to back for 2008. The flip-flop express is the kind of ride that gets worse as people learn more about it.

Thank goodness we elected a Democratic majority in congress…it’s entirely believable that Bush would have found a way to circumvent the 2 term limit as he’s circumvented just about every other law on the books regarding the Executive Branch’s powers.

He can, if anyone is wondering, run for a third term as governor.

Slimy though he may be, I think even Bush might have a hard time getting the 22nd Amendment repealed in the next 18 months.

Don’t forget all those concentration camps Bush had Haliburton build just south of Duluth, and the rail lines that, just coincidently, (wink, wink!) run from the Dem enclaves in the cities directly to the camps.

As a long-time R voter, I can now disclose (since the plan has been shelved) that we each had a list of five D’s we were to execute once Bush gave the signal at the coronation. Big D, I want you to know that, even though you were on my list, it wouldn’t have been, you know, personal.

There’s nothing funnier than concentration camp humor, bobby_b. Thanks for the Thursday afternoon pick-me-up!

Oh, we weren’t supposed to go ahead with that?

Uhh…

Hey bobby, did you hear the one about Darfur?…fucking hysterical…I just about peed myself laughing.

The concentration camp story came right out of Democratic Underground. Try to keep up with, at least, your own party’s DTs, guys.

Oh please. Everyone’s doing Darfur jokes these days…

Perhaps he will get abducted by Aliens instead.

Anything to stop him from turning our entire state into a fat faced suburban couch potato Eagan with bad schools and high “fees.”

Pawlenty is backing up a guy who is going nowhere fast as McCain’s campaign is already looking tired and out of touch with reality about the war in Iraq…….the more he defends it, the more he’s looking like a damn fool!

Who knows at this point if Pawlenty will run for a 3rd term….I doubt it, because alot can happen to his political fortunes between now and 2010 with a democratic controlled legislature. Also, any job, even being Governor, gets to be a grind after doing it for so long.

As much as I’d love to see if Bush had the audacity to try and circumvent the 22nd amendment, no doubt using fear and scare tactics and threats about al-qaeda as his reasoning, it won’t happen……I recall a movement by the GOP during Reagan’s 2nd term to overturn that amendment, and it died very quickly. Personally, I’m against any amendment that limits terms of office holders, I think that decision should be left to the voters.
