Dinosaurs are the new Peanuts

Jessica Armbruster posts about Diggin’ Dinos, the new Science Museum of Minnesota project to put 20 dinosaurs in Minneapolis parks and 80 on the streets of Saint Paul. Very similar to the Peanuts gang, the statues will be painted by local artists and sponsored by area businesses. Also, a recent Courtney Remes post about the Peanuts “eyesores”.

I hate these damn things. A few years back, New York did the whole Cows on Parade crap (a Swiss invention by the way). Anyway, David Lynch submitted a cow and they were quite thrilled to have a celbrity cow – until they saw the cow. He’d covered it in fiberglass meat, cut off the head and wrote “Eat My Fear” on the side. Strangely, it was kicked out of the fun. Here’s a link.

When the first Charlie Brown call came along, I submitted one of him in an orange jumpsuit wearing shackles. This was during the McVeigh trial. I wasn’t expecting to see it on our drunken Irish streets.
