The Minnesota TV & Film board has a new website. Designed by the student geniuses at MCAD’s DesignWorks, you can find films in production now. There’s even a showcase of Minnesota-made films (check out this animated short). Pretty cool.

It’s nice to see the film board doing something. We’re a long, long way from the glory days of the mid 90’s but the success of quality -and definitively Independent films- like Sweet Land hopefully bodes well for the future!

Thank you Realtor, for making sure that this was not my first zero comment posting.
The animated short is really well done, and funny, if anyone needs a laugh break.

What a great site! Hopefully it will take off and prove to be an indispensable tool for the film community. From an actor’s perspective, I think this was strongly needed.
It’d be cool if there was something similar for Minnesota theater, as well – the resources are out there (tctheaterandfilm.org, callboard.org, and springboard), but are a bit scattershot.

The filmography list jumps from Airport (1970) to Untamed Heart (1993). No love for Purple Rain?

They did a bangup job — yes, a sorely needed resource. A community element (a board, or or blog, or something) would’ve been nice though.
