Incidentally, having metal slivers in your body, especially your eyes, is a real hazard if you go in for an MRI. It’s usually machinists that they worry the most about. You have to fill out a questionnaire before getting an MRI that asks about situations that may result in you having metal in your body. If they’re worried, they’ll x-ray you first.

20-odd years ago, I had the bumps on my head read by the machine that senses your personality traits via the minute variations in the shape of your skull.

I was young enough that the guy running the museum - the one who was later on Letterman - told me that I could worry about the results of my "libidinous" bumps "in a few years", he said.
