Okay wonks. The DFL City Convention will try to endorse a Minneapolis mayoral candidate this weekend. This CP interview with McLaughlin, combined with his wide manly jaw, makes me scared to leave my room. Rybak gets props for his M-SPIFF premiere appearance, but maybe that’s just the slick politician there to “inspire people and hold hands in tragedy.” What’s a city girl to do? Theatre de la Jeune Lune (all French accent marks have been removed for your browsing safety) walked away with a Tony Award yesterday. It is the second time in three years that Minneapolis has won the Outstanding Regional Theater award (it went to the Children’s Theatre Company a couple years ago).
You probably know Ross Raihala as the new music writer at the Pioneer Press. However, you likely didn’t know he is also an obsessive masturbator… I mean, obsessive blogger. (Sorry, it’s so easy to confuse the two.) His blog, The Ross Who Knew Too Much (which is a spin-off of his SXSW blog, Ross By Ross West — that’s actually not a joke, though it should be), has been following the story about the Rolling Stones potentially booking a show at the Xcel. Ross reports that tix for the Sept. 6 show go on sale on May 21. (And the blog More Cowbell — don’t get us started on that name — has the entire Stones tour schedule.)
