Even though I have read all 207 issues of Hellblazer, I couldn’t bring myself to see the Keanu version. Bill and Ted had already gone to hell, as far as I was concerned. So what the Hell does this have to do with the talk of the Twin Cities? The newest issue gave a nice shout out to a local art museum, though I doubt the installation piece they’re discussing in the comic would get a grant. (Note: tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day.)
Dara’s opinions have the weight of encyclicals, as far as we are concerned. Since she loves the Warehouse District’s 112 Eatery, so will we. That said, the sneaky Pi Press was able to get Ruth Reichl to weigh in on the 112. Ruth Reichl! As in, former restaurant reviewer for the New York Times and current editor of Gourmet magazine. Do you remember when Dara took her to school for wasting the “Dining in Minneapolis” issue of Gourmet on trips to Big Bowl and Aquavit? It was like overhearing your favorite cool babysitter criticizing your mom! Debate your favorite local food writers in the comments.
The kids over at The Current are debating what a Minnesota mix tape should sound like. No unusual supsects so far though.
Are we the only disappointed souls to hear there will be no Rock the Garden at the Walker this year? Nothing signals the beginning of summer like this annual party in the Sculpture Garden (not to mention the Post-Walker-Block-Party-Party at Rex’s). Response from the Walker is: “The next Rock the Garden will be in the Summer of 2006.”
