Here’s one of those goings-on that is actually sort of a secret: Long-time staff writer at The New Yorker, not to mention winner of a pile of awards nationally and internationally, overall big deal in the writing/journalism world Adam Gopnik will be dropping by the University of Minnesota to talk shop thanks to the Minnesota’s English Department. Along with his reading, Gopnik will also sign books and converse with attendees at the free (somehow!) event. No reservation needed, just show up and here one of the most respected critics working today. Wednesday, October 10th, 7 PM. Free. —Tracy Oxford
