It’s basically summer. Yeah, that’s a bold claim but the weather is supposed to be beautiful pretty much all week and the Twins have their first home game today so, yeah, it’s basically summer. What better reason to play hooky than sitting outside and enjoying some baseball on a nice afternoon? Expectations may be pretty low for the local nine this year, but things are going well so far with the Twins off to a 3-3 start. Sure, there are still 156 games left, but you gotta start somewhere, and if the Twins end the season right smack dab in the middle at 81-81, it will be hard for any Twin Citians to complain. First pitch is at 3:10 p.m., but there are all kinds of pregame shenanigans, and you can always grab a drink or lunch somewhere before the game, which isn’t sold out yet (and you can always get standing room tickets if it does), so you really should skip work and make a day of it. We won’t tell your boss. 3 p.m. $22-$108 —Eric D. Johnson
