Folks from across the literary gamut will meet tonight for the first Twin Cities LitPunch Mixer of 2013. Launched in August of 2011, LitPunch (short for Literary Punch Card) is a program designed to increase awareness and interest in local authors and booksellers. Originally, people could pick up punch cards at participating bookstores or sponsored events, and once they accrued 12 punches, they could turn it in for a $15 gift card at any of the stores. This year, however, the organization hopes to focus more on socialization and events, instead of simply accumulating card punches. Tonight’s mixer will offer opportunities for networking, information on upcoming literary events, prizes, and punch. 5:30 p.m. Free. —DN
