The recent slew of literature-friendly events in the Twin Cities proves an exciting point (for us at least): The written word is not dead! If you’re just as happy to celebrate this fact as we are, spend some time at the Twin Cities Book Festival at the Historic Progress Center in the Minnesota State Fairgrounds.

Rain Taxi, a local nonprofit literary organization dedicated to literature in all forms, sponsors the book festival that provides literary enjoyment for all ages. Get your word fix with readings by renowned authors and local writers, an all-day book fair, and even a children’s pavilion with storytelling and other activities. Learn more about modes of storytelling, or contemplate the current state of comics during the festival’s author panels. With plenty to do, see, and read, there’s something for every genre person. 10 a.m. Free. —RO
