Kinda crazy that the hottest show of the week is a photography opening, but it’s true! Coinciding with the celebration of African American History Month, Den-Zell Gilliard present selections from three different of his series, Sunday’s Best, Odyssey of a Black Boy, and various self-portraits of the artist. His photos depict contemporary black life through parishioners at Sunday services, church leaders in several African American churches in south MPLS, urban black youth and families in action outdoors, even his own self-portraits. Gilliard will be on hand to discuss work, but we also recommend his MPLSart interview ahead of the show if you can’t make this buzzed about opening. Thursday, February 7th, 6-8 PM. Free.Hank Stacks
