J.Lo said it best: “My love don’t cost a thing.” Celebrate these early ’00s words of wisdom with The Best Love is Free, an annual event (with accompanying compilation CD) featuring local artists. The event’s mission is to spread music to new listeners and create a local community among artists. The event draws a variety of talented musicians and this year is no exception: Cecil Otter of Doomtree, Later Babes, I Colossus, and Sophia Eris all make an appearance. Dress up (there will be a photo booth hosted by Drew Carlson plus a Best Dressed contest with prizes from the event itself, Honey, and Barbette) and dance at this event honoring good music and the local art scene. 9:30 p.m. (doors at 9 p.m.) $10 pre-sale, $15 at door. —RO
