Sasha Mercedes has a back-story to rival even the most seasoned country musician: She grew up in a cabin without running water in northern Minnesota and traveled with her father’s band in an old school bus converted into a mobile home until her family settled in Bayfield, Wisc. Her past helped her develop her powerful, country-style vocals and gave her plenty of material for her solo career.

Mercedes takes the stage at Amsterdam Bar and Hall to prove her talent as a songstress and to share tales of her life growing up. Her songs contain real and raw emotion, adding a level of honesty to her music. If you’re a country fan, you’ll want to add Mercedes to your playlist; check out her live performance and hear why. 9 p.m. Free. —RO
