Red Eye’s New Works 4 Weeks: Novelty Shots

Ok, here’s a play that seems to be squarely directed at us. Another installment in the Red Eye Theater’s New Works series, Novelty Shots from performance duo Fire Drill, aka Emily Gastineau and Billy Mullaney, looks at how the internet rewires our brains and programs “our collective desire for constant stimulation”. (Hey, no need to tell us—we’re like those rats in experiments constantly pawing at the button for treats, and that was before snapchat.) Fire Drill’s work combines daring physicality with an ultra-contemporary theater aesthetic, so expect tonight’s new work to be right on the van guard of performance pieces you see this year. 8 PM. $10. —Trevor Pepin
