Similar to Blade’s stop at The Cedar, one of the things we really appreciate about the local lit scene is that big time national authors stop on their book tours all the time—and you likely don’t hear about 95% of them. Take author Annie Barrows, for example. In addition to being an established children’s author, she helped co-write 2008’s The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which went on to hold the #1 spot on the NYTimes Best Seller Lists, as well as one of Time mag’s and USA Today‘s ten best books of that year. Tonight at Common Good Books in St. Easy, she reads from her new book The Truth According to Us, which again goes back in history and tells a consuming story about one family’s thorny relationship to an entire town. 7 PM.
