It’s June, so that means it’s officially Pride season! And kicking things off with the extravagance it deserves is the Queer Music Consortium, whose 10th annual concert at the Como Park Pavilion gathers together the cities’ top notch GLBT musical ensembles for one huge blowout. The event will feature performances by the Minnesota Philharmonic, One Voice Mixed Chorus, Calliope Women’s Chorus, Twin Cities Gay Men’s Chorus, and the Minnesota Freedom Band. Seeing any of these groups on their own is a treat, but catching them together is something you can only do once a year. So scuttle on down to Lake Como, pack a picnic if you’re so inclined, and enjoy the sounds. The event starts at 7pm and is free and open to the public.
